January 17, 2018 Wednesday Letter

Dear Parents,

This week we will be connecting with parents at our quarterly conferences on January 18-19.  Please remember that school dismisses at 12:15 both days. This mid-year progress check is a key time to review accomplishments and identify targets and goals for the remainder of the school year. We thank you in advance for helping us to start and end each conference on time. We appreciate the trust you place in us as we work together to educate your child!

All the best,

Lori Riti

NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

REPORT CARDS

Beginning this quarter, you will have access to your child’s report card through Edsby, the same program you use to check on your child’s daily academic progress, homework assignments, class information, and school-wide calendar events. A step-by-step guide, complete with screen shots, is enclosed. Report cards will be available for viewing as of Wednesday, January 17. You will want to review the report card before your child’s parent-teacher conference. Teachers will have the report card available on their laptop during the conference. If you haven’t accessed your Edsby account yet, please contact Assistant Principal Sarah Barrow at sbarrow@delasallefm.org or 239-245-8212.

MAP TESTING

The Measures of Academic Progress standardized tests (MAP) will be given again on January 23-25. The MAP assessment is given three times each year, with results published to parents in May. Teachers use the results throughout the year to monitor progress and plan instruction to meet each child’s goals.

PARENT COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION MEETING

The PCA hosts a meeting each January for administration to review the school’s budget for the upcoming school year, the registration process, tuition, and providing parents with information about scholarships through the State of Florida and De LaSalle. Free childcare is available. Please plan to join us on January 30 at 6:30 PM.

CANDY GRAMS

The Senior Class of 2018 is hosting this year’s Valentine’s Day Candy Gram fundraiser. Send a sweet message to students or staff! Candy Grams are $2.00 each and can be ordered using the enclosed form. They will be delivered in school on February 14th.
