Financial Aid

The following state scholarships may be available for your child.

While a child may meet the eligibility requirements for more than one state scholarship, only one can be utilized during a calendar year.

McKay Scholarships

  • McKay Scholarships are available to public school students with disabilities who have a current Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or a 504 accommodation plan in a Florida public school

  • Vouchers are provided by the State of Florida to parents who choose to enroll their child in a participating private school

  • The scholarship amount determined by the state depends on the level of services required.  The local school district will calculate a matrix number to determine the level of funding

  • The McKay Scholarship is not based on financial need

  • Parents should inquire about McKay Scholarships through their child’s current public school or at floridaschoolchoice.org

  • Military families: A waiver may be requested directly from the Florida Department of Education for students with out of state IEPs or 504 plans

The Gardiner Scholarship

  • The Gardiner Scholarship provides scholarships to eligible students for approved services and products. De LaSalle Academy is proud to accept the Gardiner Scholarship

  • The average Gardiner Scholarship is $10,000.  To be eligible a student must:

    • Reside in Florida
    • K through 12
    • Have a diagnosed disability that meets eligibility requirements (includes Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, Prader-Willi syndrome, and others)
    • Have an IEP or a formal diagnosis from a licensed physician or psychologist
  • The Gardiner Scholarship is not based on financial need

  • The Gardiner Scholarship is administered by two organizations:

The Florida Tax Credit Scholarship and Family Empowerment Scholarship

  • The Florida Tax Credit Scholarship (FTC) and Family Empowerment Scholarship (FES) provides scholarships to low-income families

  • The Scholarships are administered by Step Up for Students (stepupforstudents.org)

The Hope Scholarship

  • Hope Scholarships are available to Florida public school students who have been bullied

  • The Hope Scholarship is not based on financial need

  • The Scholarship is administered by Step Up for Students (www.stepupforstudents.org)

De LaSalle Academy Scholarships

  • De LaSalle Scholarships are based on financial need. No child should be denied access to a quality education, so we encourage any family in need of assistance to apply online.

  • Receipt of one of the state scholarships listed above does not disqualify a family for a De LaSalle Academy Scholarship

  • De LaSalle Academy utilizes FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment to help evaluate requests for financial aid
